2024 Rules Overview & Changes
-
When ref asks "Punt or Play" on 3rd down before crossing midfield; coach must answer immediately or risk delay of game. Team may use a time out to change declaration from "play" to "punt", but once decision is made to "punt" coaches are no longer allowed to take a time out in order to change their declaration.

Pitches and laterals are now permitted behind the line of scrimmage and any player who receives a handoff, backward pass, pitch or lateral can throw from behind the line of scrimmage.

Shovel passes are allowed, but must be forward from behind the line of scrimmage and received beyond the line of scrimmage.

Up to 2 players can rush the QB and Rushers MUST identify themselves by raising their hand before the snap. They MUST rush the passer immediately after the snap. Delayed rush is NOT permitted.

There will be NO restrictions on Rushing this season for Division 2 or 4; we are adhering to the Rulebook.

There is NO Rushing in Division 1.

The refs will either stand at the 7 yd blitz line or have a marker there. Rusher MUST be 7 yds back to blitz.

QB can run ONLY when being blitzed once the rusher passes the line of scrimmage .

No-Run Zones are located 5 yds before each end zone and 5 yds on either side of midfield. Teams are not allowed to run in these zones.

Division 1 ONLY - 'No Run' zones are eliminated.

This is a NON-CONTACT Sport!

No Blocking or Screening

No Tackles, Holds, or Running through the ball carrier

Defenders CANNOT hit the ball (or arm) while in hands of an offensive player at any time.

Unnecssary Roughness & Unsportsmanlike Conduct will NOT be tolerated.

Home Game Fields: Weekly Rotational Schedule between MSl Sports Complex, Rustin HS, & Patton MS
Practice : Practice is at your local fields every week (MSl Sports Complex, Rustin HS, & Patton MS)
League Structure:

8 Weeks: 7 Games minimum *weather permitting*

Practice will be on Tuesday or Wednesday at your home locations with Sunday Morning Games & Thursday/Wednesday night games

Official NFL Flag reversible jersey and NFL Flags included with registration

All teams are coached by volunteer parents. Please let us know if you are interested in coaching.

Games:
Where : Home Game Field (rotates weekly): MSI Sports Complex - Pocopson Elementary School
When : Our games will take place between 9am - 11am @ Pocopson Elementary School w/ 2 Thursday Night games between 6-8pm. Division 4 ONLY has some Wednesday night games.
Practice:
Where : Practice is at your Home Field: MSI Sports Complex(Garnet Valley) - Rustin High School (West Chester) - Patton Middle School (Kennett-Unionville) - Pocopson Elementary School (Girls League Home Field)
When : Practices will take place on Tuesday or Wednesday between 6pm - 7pm
Equipment:
Mouthpiece, Water Bottle, Rubber cleats or sneakers (no metal cleats)

The NFL Flag Football Girls League will compete against other girls from our Garnet Valley, West Chester, and KU Leagues. Girls from all over the surrounding areas are encouraged to join. We host the largest girl's only program in our area. We have brought the right people to the table to make an unforgettable experience for our girls. We will be leading the way in Delaware & Chester County to grow and expand our girls-only league.

NFL FLAG Girls League Football, the NFL’s official youth flag football program, offers girls grades K through 12th grade. The fun and excitement of fast-paced football in a non-contact environment.
Our Mission:
The National NFL Flag Football program, which was launched over 20 years ago, is designed to educate young people about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. The program is very popular in the United States and has been very successful in many locations. Our goal is to give local Chester County Delaware County, and surrounding area players a competitive and fun-filled NFL Flag Football experience.
